Female Patient Being Reassured By Doctor In Hospital Room

Numbering our Impact

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. In our first newsletter of 2022, we want to reflect on what God has done in our ministry and what you have enabled us to do through your giving.

2021 was another challenging year working through a pandemic that never seemed to end. Yet, because of your and many others’ prayers and financial support, the poor and uninsured of Gwinnett County received quality medical and dental services. We fought to stay true to the mission and were able to open a Screening and Prevention Annex (SPA) on Buford Highway, where patients concerned about COVID-19 are offered a safe and private experience. Here, Covid-19 vaccines and testing were available to those we serve.

Because of God’s faithfulness and your tremendous generosity, we recorded 31,451 visits to our clinics, served 6,445 unique individuals, and enrolled 2,896 new patients. In addition, we dispensed 5,483 prescription medications and provided 23,837 lab tests at an average cost of $17.62 per lab.

To help keep the cost of our services low, volunteers dedicated 10,515 hours to help us serve our patients, resulting in $277,104 saved in labor expenses. That is amazing, and we are so grateful for the men and women who dedicated their time to help our neighbors in need.

Our typical patient in 2021 was part of a household of 4.4 people with an average salary of $22,783 per year — and without health insurance. With the cost of living being so high at this time, it is difficult for those living in poverty to find affordable healthcare. By supporting ministries like ours, you help alleviate that financial burden.

God passionately cares about the poor, orphaned, widowed, or disenfranchised, as evident in Matthew 25:

“… for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink I was a stranger, and you took me in. I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me.” (verses 35-36, WEB)

We are honored that you would come alongside us to fulfill this call.

Thank you for all your support in 2021, and we look forward to what God has in store for us during 2022.
