How You Support our Future Medical Workers

Good Samaritan Health Centers of Gwinnett wouldn’t exist without the tremendous generosity of our staff members, volunteers, and financial advocates. They believe in our mission to demonstrate the love of Christ to the working poor and uninsured of Gwinnett and surrounding counties through our primary, dental, and prescription services.

You empower us to train future healthcare workers who see patients as people made in the image of God.

We recently said “goodbye,” for now, to some of these life-changing staff members, including Andrea Abella, our former medical assistant pursuing a nursing degree at Kennesaw State University. Before Good Sam Gwinnett, she had never worked in an organization that allowed her to express her faith. Praying with patients and coworkers has allowed her to be the person who God made her to be.

With a degree in public health, Abella hopes to work in a nonprofit clinic and address health disparities and inequities.

“Every day, I came to work excited to learn from my co-workers and watch them step up and advocate for our patients,” Abella said. “They pushed me to become a better version of myself. There is something so special about working alongside people who really love Jesus and want to share that love with others.”

Many medical assistants like Abella and student volunteers end up going off to school to improve their education with hopes of continuing to serve their communities after graduation. Your support has helped them grow — not only ensuring that our needy neighbors today get the help they need — but also those who will need our help in the future.
