I very often tell people we treat the world here at the Good Samaritan Health Center of Gwinnett. I began to wonder how close to true that statement is, so we set about counting the countries our patients report as their homeland. So far we are up to fifty-two. Wow. There are 196 countries across the globe and we are touching a quarter of them here in our little clinic. What a blessing it is to work and volunteer in this place!

Speaking of blessings, we enjoy the generosity of many donors who make it possible for us to provide some healthcare services for free or nearly free. Last year we provided 287 appointments to individuals with no means to pay, requiring us to pull $80,360 from our rainy day operating reserve. Praise God, for he stirred someone to put the money in that pot for that use in the first place. This year we are offering free well visits to children up to the ages of 18, making sure they are reaching developmental milestones and determining if hearing, vision or dental care is needed to thrive. We are also offering free prenatal care to pregnant women in their first trimester, making sure they are healthy for pregnancy and obtaining adequate nutrition. Again, praise God for stirring His people to remember our ministry and support us with their gifts!

And speaking of gifts, we have been blessed with two matching grants in support of our 3.0 Relocation plans. North Point Ministries and a loyal family foundation have together donated $200,000 to help us one day make the move to a larger location so that we might expand our service offerings to the poor and uninsured. God willing, that expansion will include Gwinnett County’s only full-time charity dental clinic.

A free bumper sticker is now included with all donation acknowledgments. Make a gift and let the community know you love Good Samaritan Health Center of Gwinnett!

We welcome NSpire Outreach, a non-profit organization focused on the issue of homelessness in Gwinnett County, as our newest collaborative partner. We are now working with twenty-one partners to serve the various needs of the community. Praise God for expanding our fields and giving us this opportunity to see our labors and your gifts help His kingdom come.

Speaking of God, thank you, Father, for everything. You have been mighty, mighty good to us.
